What's behind Alpha Alliance Kennels

What Goes Into Every Alpha Alliance Puppy Before It Ever Comes Home

5 Minute Read
When a family reaches out to us about an Alpha Alliance puppy, they are not just asking about a dog. They are asking about us — who we are, how we operate, and whether we are the kind of program they can trust. That is a fair question. And we want to answer it.
What is behind an Alpha Alliance puppy is a program that has been built carefully, expanded intentionally, and held to a standard that does not bend regardless of circumstance. This is the story of how that program came to be — and what it looks like today.

Where It All Began

Alpha Alliance was established in Pensacola, Florida, in early 2009.
That same year, our founder Harold Griffin Jr. moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida A&M University. For the next five years, he balanced the responsibilities of school and work while continuing to study dogs — bloodlines, breeding practices, structure, health, and temperament. The qualities that define Alpha Alliance today were shaped significantly during those years at FAMU.
After graduating, Harold returned to Pensacola in 2016. From 2016 through early 2024, Pensacola served as the program's home base. During that period, Alpha Alliance continued developing its dogs, strengthening its reputation, building relationships, and placing dogs with families throughout the United States and internationally.
Every chapter contributed something important to the foundation of what Alpha Alliance is today.

Building Our Molino Headquarters

In March 2024, Alpha Alliance reached an important milestone — the completion of our new indoor-outdoor facility in Molino, Florida.
Molino became the official headquarters and primary home of the program. More than simply a kennel, the facility was developed to support every dimension of a dog's daily life — care, comfort, exercise, development, grooming, wellness, and enrichment — all under one roof and across more than three acres of outdoor space.
The indoor portion of the facility is heated and cooled, providing a comfortable and controlled environment throughout Florida's changing seasons. Our indoor setup includes:
  • A full salon-style dog bathing station
  • A dog treadmill for structured indoor exercise
  • Dedicated puppy whelping areas
  • Organized wellness and medical supplies
  • Our Super Puppy Playpen, which every Alpha Alliance litter gets to experience
  • More than three acres of outdoor space for running, playing, and exploring

Outside, our dogs have access to more than three acres of run and play space — room to move, explore, exercise, and simply be dogs in an environment designed around their needs.
Molino serves as the heart and personality of Alpha Alliance. It is the program's central point for leadership, planning, recordkeeping, buyer communication, puppy placements, and overall operations. It represents our history, our hands-on approach, and the future we are continuing to build.

The Super Puppy Playpen

Every Alpha Alliance litter gets to experience our Super Puppy Playpen — a safe, engaging space where puppies interact, explore, play, and begin developing the confidence and social skills that prepare them for life with their future families.
Early enrichment and socialization are not afterthoughts in our program. They are built into every litter's development from the very beginning. What puppies experience in those first weeks shapes their temperament, their confidence, and their ability to adapt to new environments, people, and situations.

Our Super Puppy Playpen gives every Alpha Alliance litter a safe space to explore, play, and develop confidence from the start.
The Super Puppy Playpen is one of the most visible expressions of our commitment to raising dogs that are not only healthy and well-bred, but genuinely ready for the homes and families they are going to.

Expanding to Milton

In 2026, Alpha Alliance opened a second active Florida yard in Milton — located approximately 30 miles from our Molino headquarters.
Milton was not opened simply to create more space. It was opened to strengthen our capabilities. The Milton yard was designed to complement Molino by providing specialized reproductive services, private accommodations for visiting dogs, additional enrichment space, and greater flexibility for breeding, whelping, and raising litters.
The reproductive services handled through the Milton yard include:
  • Artificial inseminations
  • Semen collections, analysis, preparation, and shipping
  • Progesterone testing
  • Pregnancy ultrasounds
  • Planned breedings, whelping, and litter care
Milton also includes a large fenced play area equipped with an A-frame, tires, and enrichment toys that are rotated weekly to provide variety, new stimuli, and continued mental and physical engagement. A private kennel area accommodates visiting dogs and serves as our private breeding suite when a breeding pair is on-site — providing a quiet, controlled environment away from the yard's regular activity.

The purpose of expanding to Milton was not to produce more puppies. It was to make better decisions — for our dogs, our breeding pairs, our mothers, and our litters — with the space and resources needed to do that responsibly.

One Program. One Standard.

Having dogs at more than one location does not mean operating separate programs.
Harold provides direct oversight across both Florida yards. Feeding routines, daily care protocols, breeding decisions, veterinary information, health testing, and documentation are coordinated throughout the program. Records are maintained centrally, giving Alpha Alliance a complete history of each dog's health, development, reproductive activity, and care.
Our non-negotiables do not change based on location:
  • Safe, clean, and appropriate living environments
  • Comfortable indoor care and adequate outdoor exercise
  • Consistent nutrition and daily routines
  • Individual attention, training, and socialization
  • Physical exercise and mental enrichment
  • Responsible health testing and breeding decisions
  • Centralized veterinary and health records
  • Thoughtful evaluation of prospective homes
  • Honest communication with buyers
  • Continued support after placement
The location of a dog may change according to that dog's individual needs, stage of development, training, or reproductive plan. The Alpha Alliance standard does not.

What This Means When You Buy From Us

For families purchasing an Alpha Alliance puppy, the experience remains unified regardless of which yard a dog is housed at.
All inquiries, communication, puppy matching, health information, documentation, and ongoing support are coordinated through Alpha Alliance — not independently through each location. Whether a puppy is born at Molino or raised at Milton, that puppy is part of the same program, held to the same expectations, and supported by the same long-term commitment.
Our two-yard structure gives us more space, stronger reproductive capabilities, and greater flexibility to do right by our dogs and our buyers. But it has never changed what we are. A larger physical footprint is not the goal.
The goal has always been the same: to produce quality dogs, make responsible breeding decisions, and support every family that welcomes an Alpha Alliance dog into their home.
That standard started in 2009. It is the same standard today.
